Tumblr Inspo: Location Photoshoots

Been planning an outdoor lookbook type shoot for my brand Veuxdoo for a while now, so went looking for some inspiration for my photographer. I like the quite vintage and relaxed style of 'capturing a moment' as it were, but also some staged or posed shots look just as powerful. I'm excited to see what we come up with, but for now here's some Tumblr inspiration...

This is my favourite image - I like the ratio of sky to land and the wind turbines give it something edgy and quite open and wild in a sense.

Even though this one is in more of a pose/staged style - I think it still has strong impact, but I think the styling and the model's attitude has a big role to play in that.

Have you ever done an outdoors photoshoot before?
How did you plan where to photograph?

Phresh Off The Runway: River Island Sale Must-Have's

Ph-Ph-Phresh off the runway and straight into the sale. These are my favourite finds from River Island's summer sale, a mix of cute 90's casual and seductive festival must-haves. The Black Floral Print Cropped T-shirt goes with the Dark Wash High Waisted Denim Shorts and Black Chunky Buckle Sandals and would look great with Lennon-specs and a leather fringe bum-bag. The ethereal White Floral Print Split Panel Maxi Skirt paired with the Black Cord Embellished Fringed Crop Top emit 70's festival chic, with practical trainer Black Rihanna Cut-Out Lace Up Ankle Boots and White Studded Rucksack to carry essential pac-a-mac and wet wipes! Hook on Gold Tone Filigree Cross Earrings to either outfit to make a look worthy of any summer evening beer-garden.

Which of these outfits do you prefer?
Did you find any bargains in the River Island sale?

The White Queen

Though the series is not yet over, I've really enjoyed the BBC One adaptation of Philippa Gregory's books. I like the cast of unfamiliar faces and I'm pretty sure some of the scenes are filmed at the Bruges bell-tower that I visited last year, it's just too similar! It inspired me to come up with my own 'White Queen' inspired look...

Have you watched the series?
Are the books worth a read?
